Arsenal extended their lead at the top of the Premier League to a formidable eight points with an outstanding performance and win over Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
Goals from Hugo Lloris (own goal) and Martin Odegaard secured a 2-0 victory for the Gunners, who dominated the match from start to finish. Tottenham had a few chances to get back into the game in the second half, but Arsenal's defense held firm to secure all three points.
The win sees Arsenal move eight points clear of Manchester City, who lost 2-1 to Fulham earlier in the day. It is also the first time that Arsenal have completed the double over Tottenham in nine years.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta was delighted with his team's performance.
"We were excellent today," he said. "We controlled the game from the first minute to the last. We created a lot of chances and we deserved to win the game."
Tottenham manager Antonio Conte was disappointed with his team's performance.
"We didn't play well today," he said. "We were too slow and we didn't create enough chances. Arsenal were the better team today and they deserved to win the game."
