Roland Garros: Prize Money Increases Announced for 2023 Tournament

Significant Boost in Winnings for Players

The organizers of the Roland Garros tennis tournament have announced a substantial increase in prize money for the 2023 edition. The total prize pool will now stand at a record €46.5 million, up from €40 million in 2022.

The increase reflects the growing popularity and prestige of the tournament, which is one of the four Grand Slams in tennis. It is also known as the French Open and is held annually at the Stade Roland Garros in Paris.

Winners to Receive Larger Shares

The most significant increase in prize money will be seen by the winners of the men's and women's singles titles. The champions will now receive €2.4 million, up from €2.2 million last year. The runners-up will also see their prize money increase to €1.2 million from €1.1 million.

Players who reach the semifinals and quarterfinals will also receive increased winnings. The prize money for reaching the semifinals has been raised to €680,000, while the prize for reaching the quarterfinals is now €390,000.

Doubles and Mixed Doubles Prize Money

The prize money for doubles and mixed doubles has also been increased. The winning doubles pair will now receive €590,000, while the runners-up will get €300,000. The mixed doubles champions will receive €120,000, up from €100,000 last year.

The Roland Garros tournament is one of the most prestigious events in tennis, and the increase in prize money will undoubtedly make it even more attractive to players around the world. The 2023 tournament will be held from May 28th to June 11th.
